Ranikhet

Perched at an elevation of 1,830 m above sea level, Ranikhet is a wonderful hill station located in the Almora district of Uttaranchal. A wide variety of wildlife  species is found in the reserved forests of Pine, Oak and Deodar in Ranikhet. Some of the wildlife species spotted here are leopard, leopard cat, mountain goat, barking deer, sambhar, pine mertin, wild bear, Indian hare, red faced monkey, jackal, langur, red fox and porcupine. Ranikhet is also known for its ancient temples.

Nanda Devi Mela

Dedicated to goddess Nanda Devi, Nanda Devi Temple is an important pilgrimage center in Uttaranchal. The temple is famous for its colorful Nanda Devi Festival celebrated every year in the month of September in honor of the goddess. The word Nanda means 'prosperity' and 'well being' and the Nanda Devi Festival represents both material and spiritual prosperity. The fair is held in Ranikhet, Nauti, Almora, Nauti, Dandidhara and Munsyari.

Upat

It is one of the finest places in India to try your hand at the royal game, Golf. Tourists from far and wide come here to play Golf. Upat also offers picturesque views of the snow-capped peaks.

Kalika

It is famous for a temple built in honor of goddess Kali. There is also a forest nursery here.

Chaubatia

Located 10 km from Ranikhet, Chaubatia is known for its four fruit gardens and a Government Fruit Research Center.

Bhalu

Located around 13 km from Ranikhet, Bhalu is a fabulous spot for fishing.
