Wildlife Sanctuaries Of Himachal Pradesh

Simbalbara Sanctuary
It is a wonderful wildlife sanctuary located in the middle of dense Sal forests of the Paonta Valley. Some of the wildlife species sighted here are chital, sambhar, goral etc.
The best time to visit the sanctuary is from October to February.

Great Himalayan National Park
Located in the famous tourist destination of Kullu, the Great Himalayan National Park is surrounded by snow-capped mountains and green valleys. Covering an area of 620 sq km, the Park provides shelter to around 375 wildlife species. The most propitious time to visit the Park is from April to June, and September to November.

Chail Sanctuary
Apart from sheer natural beauty, Chail Sanctuary is the destination ,which offers  sights of the rare orchids and the endangered wildlife species. Amazing avian species is another attraction of this Park. The most favorable time to come to the sanctuary is from October to February.

Pin Valley National Park
Famous for being home to a good population of Ibex, Pin Valley National Park is perched at a great elevation in the Himalayan mountains. Snow leopard is another breathtaking attraction of this park. The best time to visit is from April to June.

Churdhar Sanctuary
Sitting pretty amidst the snow-clad peaks and lush green valleys, Churdhar Sanctuary     houses a variety of wildlife such as monals, barking deer, Himalayan black bear, musk deer, leopard and langur. The sanctuary also offers amazing opportunities for trekking. The best time to visit the sanctuary is from October to February.

Dharangati wildlife sanctuary, Kalatop Khajjiar sanctuary, Kanwar sanctuary, Maharana Pratap Sagar sanctuary, Majathal sanctuary, Manali sanctuary, Nature Park Gopalpur, Renuka sanctuary and Nature park Kufri are the other important wildlife destinations in Himachal Pradesh.
